On July 17th, UBTECH unveiled the world's first industrial humanoid robot featuring a hot‑swappable autonomous battery exchange system. Built into the latest industrial model, the Walker S2, this system enables a fully autonomous battery swap completed in just three minutes, without manual intervention or shutdown, laying the foundation for "self-sustaining new quality productive forces" in smart manufacturing.

This system boasts three core technical highlights. First, the original dual battery power balance technology, through real-time monitoring and dynamic energy balancing, enables coordinated charging and discharging of the two batteries, seamless switching during replacement, and hot-swapping while powered, ensuring safe and stable operation of the robot. The second point lies in the standardized quick-swap battery bay design. The standardized battery modules and zero-gap segmented structures enable the battery to function as both an energy source and a structural component of the robot body. With self-positioning and unlocking functions, it flexibly switches endurance modes. The third is the dual arm coordination technique for battery replacement. By leveraging the robot's body positioning accuracy and compliant control algorithms, the arms accurately align the battery with its compartment.

The breakthrough lies in the robot's ability to swap batteries autonomously, avoiding task interruptions due to charging downtime, enabling continuous operation, reducing maintenance labor costs, and improving overall production efficiency. In practical applications, the robot can also autonomously choose between swapping and charging based on task priority, enabling dynamic energy management. The hot-swapping technology is equipped with safety mechanisms, and the dual-battery setup allows seamless switching in case of a primary battery failure, enhancing safety and reliability in factory operations.

该系统有三大核心技术亮点:一是原创双电池动力平衡技术,通过实时监测与动态均衡,实现双电池同充同放、无缝切换,支持带电热插拔,保障安全稳定运行;二是标准化电池仓快换技术,标准化电池模块与零间隙分仓结构,让电池既是能源组件也成机身一部分,可自定位解锁,灵活切换续航模式;三是双臂协同精准换电技术,借助本体定位精度和柔顺控制算法,实现电池与仓体精确对准。

这项技术的突破点在于机器人能自主换电,既避免充电停机中断任务,赋予连续作业能力,又减少人力维护成本、提升生产效率。实际应用中,机器人可按任务优先级自主选择换电或充电,实现动态能源管理。热插拔技术具备安全机制,双电池系统还能在主电池故障时无缝切换,增强工厂作业的安全性与可靠性。
